How Light Yagami Got The Death Note: The Anime Series

In the popular anime series Death Note, high school student Light Yagami finds a notebook that has the power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. He soon becomes a ruthless killer, using the notebook to rid the world of criminals. But how did he get the notebook in the first place? As it turns out, the notebook belonged to a Shinigami, or death god, named Ryuk. Ryuk was bored with his life in the Shinigami realm and decided to drop the notebook into the human world for fun. Light just happened to be the one who found it. At first, Light doesn’t believe that the notebook is real. But after seeing it work firsthand, he becomes obsessed with its power. He starts using it to kill criminals, which earns him the nickname “Kira.” As Kira’s body count grows, the police and Interpol launch a massive manhunt for him. Meanwhile, Ryuk watches from the sidelines, amused by the whole thing. Light is eventually caught, but not before he’s killed countless people. In the end, he pays for his crimes with his life. But the question remains: how did he get the death note in the first place?
